Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
Let it be known throughout the kingdom that Lynne Kracht is now a grandmother and Ron Kracht is now a grandfather!!!!!!!!!
Claire S. Stacey was born, via natural childbirth, on 11/27/98 at 1:52 pm at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio to Darci Kracht and Michael Stacey.
She weighed 7# 9 1/2 oz., is 20" long, 33 cm. head diameter and 34 cm. chest diameter (you figure it out).
Baby, mother, father, grandmother and grandfather are all doing fine. Darci required some stitches and is a little sore but in very fine spirits.
The middle name is unknown at this time to me, but the middle name will begin with S. Probably Sullivan but I suggested something to do with traveling fast on turnpikes and interstates (more about this later).
Darci was due 12/18/98 and she and Michael were at our house for Thanksgiving. Her water broke at 9:45 am on Friday (day after Thanksgiving). After a frantic call to the doctor it was decided to drive to Akron, Ohio to their hospital to have the baby. The doctor said that most first babies are born 10 to 12 hours after the water breaks.
After hurried packing, Lynne (with Michael's urging) decided to ride to Akron with Darci and Michael which is about 110 miles from our house. After some last minute duties I followed and thought I would catch up to them since I am a faster driver than Michael.
I never did catch them, and found out later that every time Darci had a contraction, Michael increased his speed by 5 miles an hour. Evidently he reached triple digits or very close to them.
I, also traveling very fast, arrived at the hospital about 10 minutes after them, around noon, which was amazing by itself, because I had never been to Akron (they live in Kent), and did not receive directions. The car knew where to go and we got there.
Lynne and I assisted with the delivery. She did some brow mopping and I picked up some tubing that the nurse dropped! How about that.
This was the first birth that I have witnessed and it was great! You older people will remember that when Lynne and I had our children, the father could not get past the labor room.
Well I am sure you are all bored by now, so I'll close.
But before I do, here are some numbers for you gamblers.
