  1. What is the link to MyLabsPlus for Kent State University students?

  3. What are my password and username?
    • If you are new to MLP, that information is found in Getting Started in MyLabsPlus. If you have used MLP before, you have the same account, with the same username and password as before. If you don't remember your password, click the "Forgot your password" link below the login window on the MLP login screen.

  4. I have used MLP before, do I need to buy a new access code?
    • If you are repeating the same course, with the same edition of the same textbook, your old code should still work. If the book has gone into a new edition since you last took the course, your code might not work. See your instructor about getting a new code.
    • If you used MLP for a different course, you will need to purchase a new access code with the following exception:
      • If you had a code for Math 11010 and are now enrolled in Math 11022, your old code should still work.

  5. What if I can't afford to buy an access code right away?
    • You will have free access to MyLabsPlus and the e-book for about the first two weeks of the semester. This will give you some time to decide whether you really wish to purchase a hard copy of the textbook. Instructions for getting a free temporary access code are on the second page of Getting Started in MyLabsPlus. You might have to click on the "Course Home" button to get the "Temporary Access" button to appear in your navigation menu.

  7. What must I do before using MLP on a certain computer or in a certain browser for the first time?
    • Run the Browser Check that appears as a link when you first log into MLP. Install any needed Plug-Ins.
    • Disable the Pop-Up Blocker.
    • Allow cookies.

  8. What if I am getting a "Session Timed Out" error message in MLP?
    • The reason may be that you are not signing off so your session is technically still open. If the you see this message, be sure to click on "Signoff" and then close the window and re-open to log back in.

  9. What if I am using Internet Explorer 11 and have been experiencing "Your session has expired" or "File not found" errors?
    1. Click Tools, and then click Compatibility View settings.
    2. Under Add this website, enter www.mathxl.com, www.ecollege.com, and www.digitalvellum.next.ecollege.com and then click Add.

  10. What should I do if I have tried all these fixes, but I'm still having trouble using MLP?
    • Sign out of MLP, close your tab, then log back into MLP in a new tab.
    • Sign out of MLP, then close and re-open your browser.
    • Sign out of MLP, then try a different browser, following the instructions above for using MLP in a browser for the first time.
    • Sign out of MLP, then try a different computer (for example, in the computer lab on the first floor of the library), following the instructions above for using MLP on a computer for the first time.

  11. How do I contact Pearson's MLP user help?
  12. When are the homework assignments due?
    • When you click the Homework link in MLP, you will get a list of assignments, with the due dates and times listed next to each one.

  13. Can assignments be completed after the deadline?
    • For all students: Read the syllabus.
    • For Dr. Kracht's students: Most assignments can be worked on after the deadline, up until the day and time of the next exam. There is a small penalty (2% per day) on those questions completed after the deadline, regardless of your reason for missing the deadline. Bonus Preview assignments cannot be accessed after the deadline. Please read the syllabus for your course for detailed policies.

  14. How much are the homework assignments worth?
    • For all students: Read the syllabus.
    • For Dr. Kracht's students: For each assignment, you will earn precisely the score you have earned in MLP for that assignment. (For example, if you earn 93.4% on the assignment in MLP, you will get a score of 93.4% for that assignment in my gradebook.) All assignments will be weighted equally, even though they may have different numbers of questions. The total homework score for the semester varies by class. Please read the syllabus for your course.
