Other Interests

My other interests include my reading of "newsy" stuff regarding general science. The two publications I look at regularly are Scientific American and Science News, and so arises one of my nicknames "Scientific George". I also spend some time (when I can) repairing my own vehicles.

My deepest love is the outdoors. Downhill skiing is my major winter activity. I also take at least a couple backcountry trips each year; whether on foot, nordic skis or in my canoe. My day-to-day relaxation typically consists of short hikes and birding.
