This course studies the linear systems of equations and associated
matrix operations, vector spaces, bases, and eigenvectors.
Required Text
``Linear Algebra and Its Applications'', by David C. Lay,
published by Pearson Addison Wesley, 3rd edition, 2006.
Prerequisites
MATH-11012 and MATH-12002
Requirements and Grading Policy
Homework will be assigned at the end of each lecture, and collected on
Mondays. Homework will be graded and it takes 20% of your final grade. Weekly quiz
will be given on Mondays and they take another 20% of your final grade.
Two mid-term exams will be given and they together take 30% of your final grade. The final
exam takes the last 30% of your final grade for this course.
The grade will be based on 100 points and is assigned as following:
A (>= 93),
A-(>= 90),
B+(>= 87),
B (>= 83),
B-(>= 80),
C+(>= 77),
C (>= 73),
C-(>= 70),
D+(>= 67),
D (>= 63),
D-(>= 60),
F (< 60).
