"A speech is a solemn responsibility. The man who makes a bad
thirty-minute speech to two hundred people wastes only a
half hour of his own time. But he wastes one hundred hours
of the audience's time - more than four days -
which should be a hanging offense."

~Jenkin Lloyd Jones

RESOURCES?! ...WHAT Resources?

Let's start with what a resource is... (from www.websters.com)
1) Something that can be used for support or help.
2) An available supply that can be drawn on when needed.
3) The ability to deal with a difficult or troublesome situation effectively; initiative.
4) Means that can be used to cope with a difficult situation.

The point is....?
Resources are things, and people, that we can call upon when we need help with situations that are difficult for us to handle by ourselves. Sometimes we all need a little help. Some people have a harder time asking for it than others. But you won't get any help unless you ask someone for it.

The number one resource is....?
PEOPLE. Co-workers. School-mates. Professors, secretaries, graduates, undergraduates, mentors, peers, library workers, advisors, students, the guy walking down the street with the map in his pocket... PEOPLE.

DON'T FORGET PEOPLE. Keep a rolodex, or address book, or list... it doesn't have to be fancy. Just useable.

made a lot of mistakes and told me about them, and then told me what they learned from them. ~Buckminster Fuller
