How to Apply:

Please submit your application by e-mail. Paper applications will not be accepted. E-mail soprunova [at] math.kent.edu with REU (you last name) in the subject line. The e-mail body should contain plain text only. Only PDF and MSWord (no .docx files please) attachments are allowed. The attachments should contain your last name in the file name.

Request one or two letters of recommendation from your mathematics instructor preferably in the most advanced mathematics courses you have taken. The recommendation letters can be submitted either by e-mail or regular mail.

Provide the following information with your application:

• Full name
• Citizenship (or residency status if not a US Citizen)
• E-mail address
• Telephone numbers, including your cell number
• Mailing address
• Undergraduate institution and expected graduation date
• List of all college math courses taken or in progress, with grades if completed
• Names and phone numbers of the people who are writing your reference letters
• A Personal Statement describing your interest in mathematics, relevant background, prior research experience (if any), and career goals. Please mention which project you think you would be interested in and explain why. Describe your experience in the most advanced math course you have taken.

The deadline is March 27th but we will consider applications on rolling basis.
