COURSE OUTLINE:
- Ch. 5: Boundary Value Problems, Integral Equations, Green's Functions (7 weeks)
- Ch. 6: Elliptic and Parabolic Partial Differential Equations (7 weeks)
CLASS OPERATION:
- Homework (from exercises in the text or problems integrated with
the
lectures)
will be assigned regularly and collected periodically (with at least
one week
notice).
It will be graded and returned. Late homework will lose 30% credit.
- There will be a Mid-Term Exam (in class).
- A Final Exam will be given during the regularly scheduled
Final Exam period for the course (Friday, May 9, 7:45am-10:00am). It
will only cover material after
that covered by the Mid-Term.

GRADES: Homework (35%), Mid-Term Exam (30%), Final Exam (35%).
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT: The
official registration deadline for this course is January 26,
2014 (end of 2nd week). University policy requires all students to be officially
registered in each class they are attending. Students who are not
officially registered for a course by published deadlines should not be
attending classes and will not receive credit or a grade for the
course. Each student must confirm enrollment by checking his/her
class schedule (using Student Tools in FlashFast) prior to the deadline
indicated. Registration errors must be corrected prior to the
deadline.
The last day to withdraw is March 13, 2014 (end of 10th week).
